Following increased level of fraud via the internet as regards phantom auctions and job recruitments into the Nigeria Custom Service, the service has released names as well as list of websites and phone numbers of scammers who are allegedly perpetrating the act, even as it warned Nigerians to be wary of them.

Following increased level of fraud via the internet as regards phantom auctions and job recruitments into the Nigeria Custom Service, the service has released names as well as list of websites and phone numbers of scammers who are allegedly perpetrating the act, even as it warned Nigerians to be wary of them.

Shipping Position Daily gathered authoritatively last week that about seven facebook addresses and four websites alongside names and addresses were published by the Nigeria Customs as platforms being used by online scammers to swindle unsuspecting Nigerians of large sums of money.

These monies are usually collected under the guise of providing placement for non-existing positions in the Custom Service.

According to the Customs, the websites and social media are also being used to deceive Nigerians with the sale of auction of vehicles and other items at ridiculous prices.

It would be recalled that the Customs had early this year paraded eleven suspected recruitment syndicate members arrested at various locations in Owerri, Sokoto and Abuja in an operation that was conducted in collaboration with the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) and forensic experts from Canada and the United States of America (USA).

It had also paraded two other suspects earlier this month for swindling unsuspecting Nigerians for job recruitments and vehicle auctions.

Shipping Position Daily confirmed that some of the fake websites are: www.nigeriacarmart.com, www.classified.dailypost.com.ng, www.portharcourtcustomsauction.webs.com, www.nigeriacustomsgov.webbs.com.

Below are list of some of the information released by the Nigeria Custom Service last week.
