The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has announced the promotion of Mrs. Gloria Adaugo Anyasodo to the position of Director, marking a significant step in her career and in the agency’s drive to enhance operational efficiency and maritime safety.
Before her elevation, Anyasodo served as Coordinator of NIMASA’s Western Zone, where she earned a reputation for strong leadership, professionalism, and consistent delivery on key enforcement assignments. Her tenure in the role was marked by policies and initiatives aimed at improving stakeholder engagement and ensuring compliance with maritime regulations.
A seasoned maritime administrator, Anyasodo brings to the directorate a wealth of experience in Maritime Education and Training (MET). She holds a Master’s Degree in Maritime Affairs from the prestigious World Maritime University (WMU) in Sweden and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administration (CIA). Over the years, she has played a pivotal role in developing and implementing strategic policy guidelines within NIMASA, particularly in areas relating to training and capacity development.
Her performance has earned her several industry recognitions, including the 2024 Maritime Amazon award and the Best Performing Enforcement Coordinator title, both of which underscore her dedication to excellence and maritime sector advancement.
With her new appointment, Anyasodo joins NIMASA’s top management team at a time when the agency is intensifying efforts to strengthen maritime safety, security, and regulatory enforcement in Nigeria’s waters. Her promotion is also seen as a reflection of the agency’s commitment to merit-based career progression and staff development.
