The Nigerian Institute of Shipping (NIS) is set to elect new officers to pilot affairs of the institute, at an elaborate ceremony which will also feature induction of new members and some Fellows.
The new executives who are expected to be elected at the event, will also become members of the Governing Board of the Institute
A statement by the Institute gave the date of the twin programmes as October 30, 2015. It will hold in Lagos.

One of the personalities to be inducted as Fellows is Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, the Chairman Senate Committee on Ethic and Privileges.
The statement which was signed by the National President of the Institute; Mr. John Patrick Egesi added that the Institute would use the programme to honour personalities who have contributed to the growth of the maritime industry.
