The Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation depot at Aba, Abia State has resumed full operations, the Abia State commissioner for Petroleum and Solid Minerals, Chief Don Ubani said.
Chief Don Ubani, who spoke to Newsmen in Aba said that government has rehabilitated the Aba Depot of the NNPC. The Commissioner said the re-opening of the Aba Depot has become necessary, because of the commitment of the Governor of the State, Chief Theodore. A. Orji to fulfill one of his electioneering promises to Abia people.

He said that Aba Depot has capacity of storing large quantity of petroleum products like PMS, AGO, DPK etc, and assured that the state government is working hard to get the storage facility working again in collaboration with NNPC and PPMC.
“We have capacity for large quantity of PMS to last of three months at maximum daily loadings”, the Hon commissioner stated”
He expressed appreciation to President Goodluck Jonathan for revamping what he describes as a moribund depot, stating that a new life has been introduced into the Aba Depot.
The Commissioner also commended the management of PPMC and NNPC for reopening the Aba Depot and assured them of adequate security.
On his part, Chairman of Aba Depot Reactivation Committee Mr Simple Nwankpa said that over 700 marketers with 400 outlets were lifting petroleum products from Aba Depot.
