Mr Olalekan Badmus, Executive Director of Marine and Operations at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), has appealed to All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirants to be united ahead the Osun August 2026 governorship election.

Badmus also urged them not to let their ambitions divide the party ahead of the election.

He made the appeal during his visit to one of the APC aspirants, Bola Oyebamiji, also the Director-General of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), on Friday in Osogbo.

Over 11 aspirants have declared their interest to contest the governorship election on the APC platform.

He said the growing number of aspirants in the party was a sign of political maturity, but ambition must not undermine the party’s cohesion.

“We can have many aspirants, but we must have only one goal—to sustain the progressive legacy and return APC to government in 2026,” he said.

Badmus urged all aspirants to conduct their campaigns with decorum and loyalty to the party.

He also called for grassroots mobilisation and reconciliation of aggrieved party members.

The director also urged residents and political stakeholders in the state to remain steadfast in their support for APC ahead of the election.

Badmus, who hailed from Osogbo, commended the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, for laying a solid foundation for the party in the state.

According to him, Oyetola has demonstrated capacity for development both in Osun and at the national level.

“Osogbo is not just the capital of our dear state; it is the capital of loyalty in the progressive family.

“We must continue to stand by our party and ensure victory for APC in 2026. Our city has never failed the progressive movement, and we will not start now,” he said.

Badmus also commended Oyebamiji’s political group, “AMBO movement,” for embarking on consultations across the state, describing it as a healthy democratic exercise.

The NPA Executive Director reiterated his commitment to supporting efforts that promoted peace and political stability within APC.

He assured that Osogbo would play a decisive role in delivering victory for the party.
