Chairman of Senate Committee on Marine, Senator Ahmed Yerima has commended the management of the Nigerian Ports Authority for improved revenue generation.
Speaking during the committee’s visit to NPA headquarters on Monday, Senator Yerima said the committee actually came to acquaint itself with the current workings of the organisation.
He also reiterated that the current administration is very serious about its fight against corruption and that it is indeed time for change.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Managing Director of NPA; Mallam Habib Abdullahi had told the Senators that NPA had embarked upon blockage of most revenue leakages since three years ago and it is still working tirelessly to achieve zero tolerance for revenue leakages.
As a result, rather than loose funds, NPA has recorded increase in revenue generation.
Mallam Abdullahi also added that NPA had embarked on lots of projects to improve the service delivery of the organisation and that the company has a resounding success in all its projects thus far.
