Leading merchant navy institute; Stars Maritime Academy is set commence its first session examinations today.
The examination is expected to run for two weeks and students from the three departments of the school are expected to take part. The three departments are, shipping management, marine engineering and nautical sciences.

Disclosing the examination timetable to our correspondent in Lagos last week, Head, Shipping Management, Mr. Chris Sadoh said after the two weeks of the process, students will embark on a one year compulsory Industry Attachment programme for the purpose of familiarising themselves with the sector.
He said that the Industrial training is compulsory for the students who partake in the examination because it is part of the requirement to make them better seafarers when competing with others on the field.
According to him, the school will re-open in July but no date has been fixed yet.
The Head of Department also disclosed that sale of forms will commence immediately after the end of examination
