Tantita Reaffirms Commitment to Combating Crude Oil Theft and Enhancing Community Well-being

The Executive Director of Technical and Operations at Tantita Security Services Limited, Captain Warredi Enisuoh, has reiterated the company’s dedication to fighting crude oil theft, boosting oil production in Nigeria, and improving the lives of communities in the Niger Delta region.

Captain Enisuoh made this statement while presenting a paper on infrastructure protection, security, and the prevention of oil theft at the 1st PAN-IJAW Economic Summit 2024 in Yenagoa. He emphasized that securing Nigeria’s public infrastructure and oil reserves is crucial to maximizing the benefits for both the nation and its people.

In his presentation as the Guest Speaker, Captain Enisuoh highlighted the potential of carbon capture initiatives in the region. He noted, “With carbon capture, the abundance of trees in these areas can absorb CO2 from the atmosphere. If pollution is controlled, these trees can flourish, allowing us to take stock of them and generate income through partnerships with global companies. Many organizations are interested in collaborating with regions like this for green development, promoting industrial growth without increasing carbon emissions. This approach not only mitigates global warming but also enhances the health and well-being of local inhabitants as they experience development.”

The Chairman of RGP Microfinance Bank, Engr. Sunny Dressman, commended Tantita Security Services for its impactful work. He praised the company’s ongoing efforts to improve community conditions and make the region a better place for all.

Advocating for increased economic opportunities in the Niger Delta, Captain Enisuoh emphasized the importance of implementing carbon streaming as a source of income for local communities. “Security challenges cannot be separated from socio-economic issues. We are here to promote how carbon streaming, carbon credits, and carbon capture can become a significant revenue source for communities. This will help shift their focus away from the illegal tapping of crude oil pipelines, which harms the environment and reduces life expectancy in the region,” he stated.

Captain Enisuoh reaffirmed Tantita’s commitment to addressing illegal bunkering through a comprehensive strategy. This approach not only aims to curb crude oil theft but also focuses on educating and engaging those involved in such activities, offering them alternatives and fostering community involvement in sustainable practices.
