The ongoing road rehabilitation by Borini Prono Construction Limited has been commended by automobile dealers at the ‘National Bus Stop’ end of the Tin Can Island port in Lagos; they say the rehabilitation has impacted positively on their business.
This followed the evacuation of some empty container laden trucks at the spot that barricaded the entrance to the park where vehicles are sold, the blockade, according to dealers had been a threat to their business.

The ongoing rehabilitation has also contributed to an increase in the sales of vehicles at the park as against last year's low sales which the dealers attributed to the container trucks blocking the entrance to the market.
However some of the dealers who spoke to Shipping Position Daily in Lagos last week revealed that there has been a massive sale of vehicles at the park since the road construction commenced about two weeks ago.
According to them, there was nothing that could be done to ensure that the truck was evacuated from the road until the construction work began.
One of the dealers at the park; Ifejika Emmanuel called on Federal and State governments to find a lasting solution to the long queue of container-laden trucks along the expressway road leading to the Tin Can Island port.
The dealer noted that since the commencement of the rehabilitation work at their own end of the port, sale has improved.
"We must say a big thank you to the government of Nigeria for rehabilitating this portion of the road, because it has helped us a lot in terms of the kind of business we do at this end of the port".
"We will also commend the construction company for doing a good job on the road , they have also helped us a lot because the space they occupied at the moment use to be where the trucks park and it is not good for our business”, he noted.
He expressed high hopes that as customers are now coming to the park to either buy or get the prices of their preferred brands, sales will further improve
He also expressed the belief that the first quarter of 2013 will be great for automobile dealers.
