President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Alhaji Ahmad Mustapha, former Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and Sardauna of Adamawa.
Mustapha died on Thursday in Abuja at the age of 76.
In a condolence statement issued by Mr Bayo Onanuga in Abuja, Tinubu praised Mustapha’s legacy of public service and leadership.
The president acknowledged his pivotal role in modernising the Nigeria Customs Service and his unwavering dedication to Adamawa State.
He extended heartfelt condolences to the Adamawa Emirate Council, the state government, and the people of Adamawa.
Tinubu described Mustapha as a statesman who will be sorely missed and prayed for Allah’s mercy and eternal rest for his soul.
Meanwhile, the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi has also expressed deepest condolences over the demise of the ex-CG of Customs.
In a message personally signed by him, he said: On behalf of the entire Officers and Men of the Nigeria Customs Service, I deeply mourn the passing of CGC Ahmad Aliyu Mustapha, rtd OFR (Sardauna Adamawa), who served as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service between 1999 and 2003.
