Alert crew onboard a bulk carrier underway noticed a speed boat with eight persons approaching. Alarm raised, crew mustered, VTIS informed and anti-piracy measures deployed. As the boat came alongside, the Master commenced manoeuvring resulting in the robbers aborting and moving away. Naval vessels in the vicinity were dispatched to assist the vessel.

Three robbers armed with a bolo boarded a bulk carrier underway. They entered the engine room, stole ship's properties and escaped. Duty crew sighted the robbers, raised the alarm and crew mustered. VTIS Singapore was informed. A naval vessel was observed in the vicinity.
