The Commissioner of Police, Ports Authority Police (Western) Command, CP Toyin Agbaminoja, has decorated the Divisional Police Officer of Roro Port Division, CSP Francis Araunah, following his promotion to the substantive rank of Chief Superintendent of Police, while charging officers of the Command to remain on heightened alert.

The decoration took place during the Command’s final Management Conference for the year 2025, held on December 29, as part of efforts to review operational activities, strengthen leadership coordination and prepare officers for effective policing as the year draws to a close.

The conference, which brought together Deputy Commissioners of Police, Assistant Commissioners of Police, Divisional Police Officers and Heads of Departments, provided an opportunity to assess the Command’s performance, review existing maritime security strategies and outline operational priorities for the new year.

CP Agbaminoja congratulated CSP Araunah on his well-deserved promotion, describing it as a reflection of his dedication, professionalism and consistent commitment to duty, particularly in the discharge of responsibilities at the Roro Port Division.

The event also featured a valedictory session in honour of the outgoing Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ports Criminal Investigation Department (CID), DCP Amabua Ashe, who has proceeded to the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos. The Commissioner of Police commended her for her outstanding leadership and contributions to strengthening investigative and operational efficiency within the Command, and wished her success in her new national assignment.

In the same vein, the Commissioner of Police formally welcomed the new Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ports CID, DCP Folarin Adedeji, charging him to build on existing achievements and further enhance intelligence-driven investigations and professionalism within the Command.

Addressing officers at the conference, CP Agbaminoja urged all Divisional Police Officers and Heads of Departments to remain vigilant and proactive, especially as the Command crosses into the new year. She emphasized the need to sustain a high level of alertness across all port formations to prevent criminal activities, safeguard critical national assets and ensure the safety of port users, personnel and the general public.

She further charged officers to maintain discipline, deepen intelligence-led policing, strengthen inter-agency collaboration and uphold the Command’s zero tolerance for unprofessional conduct.

The Ports Authority Police (Western) Command reaffirmed its commitment to maritime security, public safety and the protection of Nigeria’s port environment during the festive period and beyond.
