The Registrar of the Council for Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN); Barrister Sam Nwakohu has condoled with the family of the late Otunba Kunle Folarin, Chairman, Nigerian Ports Consultative Council (NPCC).
While commiserating with the family on Saturday morning in Lagos, Barrister Sam Nwakohu described the late Otunba Kunle Folarin as a repository of knowledge and a walking encyclopedia of occasions and matters in the maritime industry.
Nwakohu noted that the industry will forever miss him and promised to always give support to the family of the deceased. He also prayed that God would continue to keep the family and grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
“The last time I saw him was when we were both honored as Fellows by the Chartered Institute of Transport and Logistics recently, where we both wished ourselves well. He was a repository of knowledge in the maritime sector and a walking encyclopedia of occasions and matters in the maritime industry. Anywhere you see him; he always has advice for you. We would miss him in the industry. I don’t know how we are going to cope.
“My prayer is that God will first and foremost accept his soul and secondly, comfort all of you that he left behind. We would all go and when it happens, we become sad. In this case, we are sad because we don’t know who to run to now.
“Otunba has always been there for us. May his soul rest in peace and may the good lord comfort you and give you the fortitude to bear this loss. Rest assured that we would be by your side and give you all the necessary support”, Nwakohu assured.
While thanking the Council’s Registrar and his team for the condolence visit, the first daughter of late Otunba Folarin, Mrs Olamide Adeosun said it gladdens the heart of the family that their father has been able to leave a good legacy and the industry has deemed it fit to recognize him.
She noted that arrangements for the burial rites are still ongoing and the family will adequately inform the industry when they are concluded.
“We thank God that Otunba was able to leave a legacy in the industry. It also gladdened our heart that the industry has seen it befitting to recognize him. The stakeholders have pledged to support us and it is so moving to us. We want to really thank and appreciate your visit. Arrangements and plans are still ongoing and we would let you know the details when they are completed” she concluded.
Present at the condolence visit to the family was the Director, Education and Training for the Council; Mr Alban Igwe.
