The Association of West African Exporters and Maritime Professionals (AWAEMAP) has lauded the appointment of Comptroller S.O. Ariyibi as the new Customs Area Controller (CAC) of the Lilypond Export Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).
During a courtesy visit to the command on Thursday, members of the association expressed appreciation to the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC) for deploying what they described as a “highly experienced and well-exposed officer” to head the command.
AWAEMAP noted that Comptroller Ariyibi’s leadership style, vision, and readiness to engage stakeholders were evident during the interaction, adding that his administration promises to chart a new course for the country’s export sector.
According to the association, the new CAC acknowledged the achievements of his predecessor and assured that he would build on the existing foundation to take export facilitation to greater heights. Exporters, the group added, are optimistic that his tenure will create a more enabling environment for trade, encourage stakeholders, and drive meaningful progress in the sector.
Speaking on behalf of the association, AWAEMAP President, Hon. Olubunmi Olumekun, praised the appointment and pledged support for the new Comptroller.
“We are encouraged by the vision and commitment of the new Comptroller. His professionalism, experience, and passion for export development assure us that this era will bring renewed progress. AWAEMAP pledges its full cooperation and support in ensuring that Nigeria’s export industry thrives under his leadership,” Olumekun said.
The association reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with the Customs Service and the new leadership at the Lilypond Export Command to achieve national growth and prosperity through enhanced export trade.
