The Kaduna and Katsina Command of the Nigeria Customs Services (NCS) says it has seized cartons of illicit drugs worth millions of naira in Jibia border, Katsina state.
The command's Comptroller, Alhaji Umar Yusuf, made this known in Jibia, Katsina, on Tuesday at a stakeholders meeting on drugs smuggling in the state.
Yusuf said that youths indulge on such drugs to commit all forms of crimes in the country, hence the need for stakeholders to join hands and tackle the issue of drugs amongst youths.

Yusuf said that youths indulge on such drugs to commit all forms of crimes in the country, hence the need for stakeholders to join hands and tackle the issue of drugs amongst youths.
“The rate at which people involved in drug trafficking in Katsina has become a concern not only to customs but also to parents and other security agents in the state,’’ he said.
According to him, the command has so far intercepted about five trucks of such illegal drugs at different intervals.
The comptroller warned officers and men of the command to be honest and shun all forms of corrupt practices and discharge their duties responsibly.
The Caretaker Chairman of Jibia Local Government, Alhaji Animu Lawal, assured customs of their support and cooperation in the menace of drug trafficking.
Lawal urged the people of the area to report movement of such items into the country to customs and other security agents for necessary action.
