For obtaining the sum of N200,000 with the pretence of selling one Sukuzi mini bus in Apapa; Pastor Godwin Samuel has dragged a car dealer, identified as Mr. Chidi Nwobodo, before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court sitting in Lagos.
The car dealer is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, false pretence and stealing.
The prosecutor, Inspector Edet Ekpo, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on March 15, 2019 at about 2pm at Suru Alaba, Ajegunle, Apapa.
“The defendant conspired together with one other at large with the intent to defraud, obtained N200,000 from one Pastor Godwin Samuel for the sale of one Suzuki mini bus , a representation he knows to be false,” Ekpo said.
According to him, the offences are punishable under sections 411, 314 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
The defendant however pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Magistrate T.A Popoola granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties each in like sum.
The sureties are required to furnish the court with evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government.
She adjourned the case till June 11, 2019 for mention.
