A 30 year old man; John Samson, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Apapa magistrate court for impersonating a Navy personnel.
Samson is standing trial on a one count charge bordering on impersonation.
The Prosecutor; Sergeant Kolade Todunjaye, said that the suspect committed the offence by wearing a Nigerian Navy blue rig uniform.
In the charge sheet, it was alleged that : “John Samson on the 2nd of November 2018 at about 1700hours at Apapa in the Apapa magisterial district did impersonate yourself as a Navy personnel by wearing Nigerian Navy blue rig uniform".
According to the Police prosecutor, the offence is punishable under section, 169 of the criminal law of Lagos state of Nigeria 2015".
The accused; Samson pleaded not guilty of the offence.
The Magistrate; B.M Amore granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties.
According to the Magistrate, the sureties must provide evidence of tax payment to the Lagos state government and his house address, with picture.
The case was adjourned to December 4th 2018 for mention.
