An Apapa Magistrates court on Tuesday, remanded a 15year old teenager, Taye Azeez and others in prison for armed robbery.
According to the prosecutor, Sergeant Kolade Tadunjaye, the teenager was remanded pending the time his real age will be confirmed by the court.
Kolade also said that seven other defendants including, Wahab Yusuf, Saheed Kazeem, Victor Ekweli, Oseni Hassan, Quadiri Babalola, Isa Muhammad and Ahmed Yusuf were also remanded pending the directive from the Department of Public Prosecution (DPP) because of the nature of the case.
The Prosecutor said that the defendants conspired among themselves to rub a Samsung phone valued at N102, 000, an Itel phone valued at N20, 000 and a cash sum of N1, 360, 000 making a total of N1, 482, 000.
"The defendants and others now at large on the 7th day of February 2019, at about 1pm, at Layinka street, Ajegunle Lagos, conspired among themselves to commit robbery"
He said that the defendants are facing an eight count charge bordering on conspiracy, armed robbery and unlawful conduct.
"The defendants armed themselves with cutlasses and offensive weapons to rob one Techno K7 Spark valued at N35, 500 property of one Raymond Pere"
He said that the offences are punishable under sections, 297(1)(2), 297(1)(2)(a), of the criminal law of Lagos state 2015.
The Magistrate Mr. A.B A more adjourned the case till 18th of February 2019 for trial pending the outcome of the DPP and the age verification.
