Few days after the chapter executive election of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), the association has said that it has concluded plans for a two-week leadership course for the newly-elected officers.
Founder of NAGAFF, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, who disclosed this in a chat with Shipping Position Daily in Lagos last week, also said that considering the enormity of the task ahead of the newly-elected officers there is need to properly train them.
He also announced that the former Apapa chairmanship aspirant, Alhaji Tanko Ibrahim, will soon be assuming office as the Vice President, Western Zone of the association.
"We are organising a two weeks leadership course so that they can be properly prepared for what is before them. The standard is very clear about what each of them is expected to do. On the issue of Tanko who by providence could not make it, the sky is too large, NAGFF is a very big organization and we are looking at people in terms of capacity and I know that Tanko has the capacity to coordinate the entire Western Zone and we are looking at that".
He also applauded the quality of leadership in the association saying that it added to peace recorded in the just concluded election.
"First of all, they recorded achievements about leadership and I am sure you will agree with me that the quality leadership in NAGAFF makes the difference from any other association. If you look at the people we are managing you will see that they are young freight forwarders, they are at the youthful age, they are not among us who may be retiring by next year”, he stressed.
