The House of Representatives ad-hoc committee on Review of Pump Price of Petrol has summoned the Executive Secretary of Petroleum Equalization Fund (PEF) to appear before it on the 4th of July, sequel to objections raised by different oil companies over irregularities on claims.
According to the chairman of the committee, Mr. Nnana Igbokwe, “companies have demanded records placed on them which includes fictitious records that has led to the committee placing most of their transactions with PEF under enquiry which puts the onus on them to provide source documents relied on upon generating the total sum”.
Also, the committee summoned the Managing Director of Delmark petroleum Ltd to appear before it on the 4th of July to clarify some its transactions that have been put under enquiry and utilization of foreign exchange for petroleum products.
“The Managing Director of Delmark petroleum is here by directed to appear before the committee on the 4th of July to provide supportive documents for 5 transactions that are queried and utilization of foreign exchange for petroleum products”‘ Igbokwe ruled.
The chairman also handed the representative of Delmark to the police anti fraud unit in the National Assembly for them to issue statement on the five queried transactions.
The committee further expressed displeasure over the refusal of the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun to honour its invitation despite several invitations sent to her.
“This is in relation to the inquest into the utilization or application of 0.03k per litre on the price template charged for the payment and management of subsidy claims, dollar differential and accrued interest charges”, the chairman stressed.
