The Nigerian Chamber of Shipping (NCS) is to hold a-three day training on the “ABC of Shipping’’ from March 15 to March 17.
The President the NCS, Mr Andy Isichei, said on Friday in Lagos that the training would take place in Apapa.
Isichei said that the training would be the first in a series that would hold in 2017.
“The training is tailored to meet current professional needs and challenges of the maritime sector.
“The training will educate and equip maritime stakeholders with knowledge of the fundamentals and processes of shipping.
“The training will further expound the Principles of Shipping Operations and Practices, Maritime Survey, Operations, Maritime Safety, Health and Environment.
“The training will also focus on Maritime Law and Policy Framework, Maritime Financing, Marine Insurance, Freight Forwarding Practice among others,’’ he said.
Isichei said that the management of the chamber had done some restructuring.
He added that, the chamber, in accordance with its aims and objectives strives to encourage, position, and empower new entrants and key players in the maritime/shipping industry to take full advantage of opportunities created by its capacity building programmes.
