The Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA)Mallam Habib Abdullahi has pledged regular meetings and interaction with members of the Shipping Association of Nigerian (SAN) as major stakeholders in the nation’s maritime sector.
The Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA)Mallam Habib Abdullahi has pledged regular meetings and interaction with members of the Shipping Association of Nigerian (SAN) as major stakeholders in the nation’s maritime sector.
The Managing Director was speaking in his office in Lagos last week when he received members of the association who paid him a courtesy call, assuring them that the new management is composed of young, experienced and dynamic professionals, who have brought fresh ideas to table with the intent of lifting the maritime sector to a greater height.
He added that the management would be receptive to all constructive suggestions to better the operational capacity of the NPA as it affects members of the association.
Earlier in his address, the chairman of SAN Mr. Val Usifoh congratulated the Managing Director on his appointment promising that the ssociation will support and cooperate with the new management team so as to increase the tempo of activities in the industry.
He also added that the SAN would appreciate regular meetings with the NPA management.
The Meeting was attended by the Executive Directors of Finance and Administration; Mr. Olumide Oduntan, as well as his counterpart in Marine and Operations Engr. David Omonibeke, while Mr. Usifoh was accompanied by Anil Nayyar, Managing Director MSL Line, Peter Bleasdale, Managing Director, CMA CGM Delmas Lines and AscanioRusso, Managing Director Grimaldi Lines.
