The Minister of Transportation; Mr Rotimi Amaechi on Wednesday inaugurated members of the recently-elected members of the governing council of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN).
The inauguration of the fourth governing council came unexpectedly as most stakeholders were caught unawares. Information about the inauguration emerged yesterday afternoon.
Recall that, 15 freight forwarders were elected into the governing council in March at three centres in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt.
Sources at the inauguration confirmed to our correspondent that, just as he did during the inauguration of the third council, the minister also imposed and‘re-appointed’ the duo of Alhaji Tsanni Abubakar and Chief Henry Njoku as the chairman and vice chairman respectively.
Multiple sources also confirmed that there was no election at the inauguration which took place at the conference room of the ministry.

Another source however confirmed that the minister did not actually impose the duo of Tsanni and Njoku. The source disclosed that “the Minister came into the conference room and announced that the duo should continue, he was expecting any opposing view, but no one spoke. Nobody opposed his position, which presupposes that they were all in support.”
The 15 members who were inaugurated yesterday would be joined by 17 appointed members
from different agencies and interests to complete the 32- member governing council of the CRFFN.
