President Bola Tinubu has praised Tantita Security Services Limited and various security agencies for their concerted efforts in combating oil theft.
During an inspection of the impounded MT Kali at Oporoza, Chief of Defence Staff; Major General Christopher Musa, representing the President, commended Tantita and other agencies. He, alongside top officials from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and senior military personnel, expressed his determination to deal decisively with oil thieves and their backers.
General Musa affirmed that the seized vessel would be destroyed according to established procedures, serving as a deterrent to potential offenders. While emphasizing the need for collaboration, he urged the media to refrain from fostering discord between government and private security agencies, emphasizing the importance of unified efforts for optimal outcomes.
“We are here based on the report of the arrest of this ship, and it’s a significant achievement. It shows our commitment to eradicating criminal activities within the maritime domain,” he stated. General Musa also called on all Nigerians to join hands in ensuring safety and security in the country’s maritime industry.
