The shipper said that the elevation of the Shippers’ Council boss to a substantive chief executive officer was unique.
He said that was the first time an insider would be appointed to head the council.
“We want to appreciate the Federal Government for confirming the appointment of Mr Hassan Bello as the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council.
“That is the first time that an insider; I mean a staff of Nigerian Shippers Council would become the executive secretary and the chief executive officer of the council.
“I wish him a happy tenure of office. I pray that he will make a difference from others that have been coming onboard.
“I so much believe that he his going to perform, “ Omotoso said.
The shipper advised the executive secretary to be diligent, adding that he should work on the inauguration of the Federation of Shippers’ Association and make it active.
He also advised the Federal Government to gazette the Inland Container Depots (ICDs), otherwise known as dry ports, to fast   track the take-off of the project.
