The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has announced Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), as the Keynote Speaker at its Silver Jubilee celebration.
The event is set to take place on November 16, 2024, marks 25 years of NAGAFF’s influence in Nigeria’s freight forwarding sector.
This announcement was made public on Friday by Chief Afam Chukwuma, NAGAFF’s Deputy National President, durng a visit from the association’s leadership to the NPA headquarters in Lagos.
During the courtesy visit, NAGAFF leadership acknowledged the vital role that NPA plays in enhancing maritime trade and logistics in Nigeria and expressed eagerness to strengthen its collaboration with the agency.
In his remarks, Dr. Dantsoho emphasized the importance of the maritime sector to Nigeria’s economic future and the role of stakeholders like NAGAFF in driving that vision forward. “We have all it takes to make maritime the mainstay of the economy, and stakeholders like NAGAFF are key to our success,” Dantsoho stated, even as he highlighted the importance of building capacity to support Nigeria’s rapidly growing population.
“We must fast-track our growth and expansion to keep pace with population growth. This increase in capacity must be reflected in both the ship operations and cargo management sectors,” he added. “We are poised to surpass our current performance trajectory, and we will collaborate more seriously with NAGAFF in this regard,”
Dantsoho affirmed, signaling a commitment to fostering a stronger alliance with freight forwarders to optimize the nation’s maritime infrastructure and enhance operational efficiency.
