Gunmen suspected to be Lakurawa terrorists have killed two officers of the Nigeria Customs Service and one civilian in Bachaka, a border community in Argungu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The spokesperson of the Kebbi State Police Command, SP Nafiu Abubakar, confirmed the attack on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, stating that it occurred on Tuesday, March 25. He noted that the specific unit or formation of the slain Customs officers had yet to be determined.
“Yes, there was an attack, which resulted in the killing of two yet-to-be-identified Customs officers and one native of Bachaka village,” he said.
Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Sani Bello, who visited the scene, assured residents of the government’s commitment to tackling criminal elements. He described the attack as an act of desperation, insisting that sustained security operations were weakening the terrorists.
The incident came less than 24 hours after a combined team of security forces neutralized two Lakurawa terrorists in Kebbi.
