Paul Bitok, the Vice President of Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Volleyball Club, has lauded to the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, for organising the ongoing 2025 African Women’s Volleyball Club Championship in Abuja.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja, Bitok praised the Nigerian Volleyball Federation (NVBF) for successfully hosting the continental championship for the first time.

Bitok, who is also the Technical Director of KCB Kenya, said that the competition was getting increasingly intense on a daily basis, with strong teams displaying their supremacy.

“I have been rating the organizers and the federation on a daily basis since the technical meeting.

“Initially, I gave them 80 per cent, but by the end of the competition, I’ll give them a full 100 per cent for their wonderful hosting,” he said.

He commended the Nigerian Government for its support, citing the excellent organisation and timing of the matches.

He specifically praised the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), particularly the Comptroller General for their impressive hosting, which he said is a credit to Africa.

“Nigeria has proven itself capable of hosting major international competitions, rivaling countries like Egypt and Tunisia,” he added.

Bitok praised the infrastructure and organisation of the tournament, stating that it met international standards.

“The people of Nigeria have welcomed us warmly, the organisation has been perfect, and the timing of the matches is good,” he said.

He congratulated the people of Nigeria, particularly the President of the NVBF, Musa Nimrod, for leading such a significant competition in Africa.

“The tournament has showcased Nigeria’s capabilities in hosting major international events, paving the way for future competitions.

“The infrastructure is perfect, meeting the required standards. Both the indoor hall and the gymnasium are excellent, exceeding expectations.

“Hosting over 20 countries is challenging, but Nigeria has demonstrated its capability by successfully organising this tournament,” he said.

Typically, Nigeria has hosted youth and junior competitions, but this achievement showcases their ability to host men’s competitions in the future,” he said.
