Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Musa Yusuf Garba has bowed out as the 22nd AIG of the Maritime Police Command following his redeployment to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Kaduna.
Garba, whose tenure was marked by reforms and personnel-focused initiatives, is being remembered for providing what many officers described as one of the finest models of leadership in the Command’s history.
The Command, in a farewell message signed by its Public Relations Officer, ASP Adebayo Rasheed, praised Garba as a visionary leader whose initiatives repositioned the unit for greater efficiency.
During his stewardship, the Command, for the first time, organized a celebration in honour of its retirees and newly promoted officers, a gesture that reflected inclusiveness and concern for staff welfare. According to the Command Spokesman, he also corrected structural lapses within departments under the Command, thereby strengthening operations and enhancing command and control.
“AIG Musa Yusuf Garba is a leader whose wealth of experience and humane approach to leadership have left the Maritime Police Command better positioned to fulfill its mandate,” the statement read.
The Command congratulated him on his new posting and expressed confidence that he would continue to distinguish himself at the FCID Annex, Kaduna.
