The Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has said that it is going to hold a national executive retreat for all high ranking executives of the association by July 15th 2013.
The association has equally released the time table for election into chapters where elections could not hold during its last western zone elections.
Speaking at a meeting between the National Executive Committee and the Chapter executives at the national secretariat in Lagos on Monday, President of ANLCA, Prince Olayiwola Shittu explained that the essence of the national retreat is to correct a lot of ills in the association.
Shittu explained that some issues that could not easily be resolved at the National Executive Council meetings will all be thrashed out at the retreat.
He however pointed out that the retreat is not meant for everyone, but that it is meant for only chairmen, vice chairmen, board of trustees’ members, and national executive council members.
"We need to have a day retreat because we seem not to know what we are doing, that day we will go through the constitution, we will know our imitations, we give ourselves challenges, and our challenges are higher than the way we are talking"
"it is not a chapter executive retreat, it is for the key figures, the chairman and vice chairman only, then we bring the BOT people, we bring NECOM, we will look at where we are going in ANLCA, ordinarily, NEC meeting does not give us room to do all these"
"Some of the issues we are having about these chapters that has not been resolved will definitely be resolved at the retreat" shittu said
To this effect, the association constituted a 3-man organizing committee to plan and ensure success of the retreat.
Chairman of the committee is Aare Sanni Shittu, Vice chairman of ANLCA BOT, others are; the Western Zone coordinator of ANLCA, Prince Ozo Chukwura, and the Assistant National Secretary, Mr. Lawrence Bolade.
Also, the association has said that outstanding elections into western zone chapters will hold 27th of June 2013.
The election will be holding at the Pavillion Centre at Festac Town in Lagos.
Verification of voters and aspirants who feels they were not captured during the first election is expected to take place between 17th to 20th of June 2013.
