The Comptroller-General, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Col. Hameed Ali (rtd), has urged medical personnel of the service to be committed towards delivery of quality health services.
Ali gave the charge at the inauguration of the 2022 NCS Medical Corps Retreat, on Tuesday in Bauchi.
Represented by Mr Jack Ajoku, Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) and Zonal Coordinator, Zone D, Bauchi, Ali appreciated the Corps contributions towards the improvement of health of its personnel.
He urged the medical corps not to rest on its oars and strive towards ensuring quality healthcare services to the officers and men as well as members of their families.
“It is a well established fact that the healthier people are, the more productive they become, hence, improving healthcare in the service is essential towards improving the productivity of the officers,” he said.
The NCS boss reitrated commitment to address the challenges militating against effective healthcare service delivery for a more productive workforce.

Earlier, Dr Ethelbert Nnaji, Head of the NCS Medical Corps, said the retreat would avail the participants the opportunity to brainstorm and come up with actionable recommendations that would improve healthcare service delivery.
He said that it would also promote team spirit among the personnel, adding that the Corps would conduct medical outreach in Yelwan Kagadama and Dass communities in the state, as part of the annual retreat.
In his remarks, Gov. Bala Mohammad, lauded the NCS for its role in ensuring circulation of quality goods and services, revenue generation, security of life and public safety.
Mohammed, represented by his deputy, Sen. Baba Tela restated the state government commitment to partner with relevant stakeholders including the military and para- military establishments to positively impact on lives of the people.
According to him, the NCS medical corps is complementing the state government’s efforts towards the provision of healthcare services.
