The Executive Chairman of the Tin Can Island Chapter of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Prince Olawale Cole has called on maritime stakeholders and Nigerians to reflect on the deeper meaning of Easter by promoting unity, sacrifice, and mutual understanding in their daily engagements.
In his Easter goodwill message, the ANLCA Tin Can Chairman noted that the season, which marks the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, serves as a powerful reminder of the virtues of selflessness, compassion, and unconditional love.
Quoting from the Bible, he referenced John 15:13, stressing that the ultimate sacrifice made by Christ should inspire individuals, especially those within the maritime industry, to act with integrity, fairness, and a spirit of cooperation in their professional dealings.
He observed that the lessons of Easter go beyond religious observance, emphasizing that when stakeholders embrace peace and tolerance, it enhances trust, reduces conflicts, and creates a more enabling environment for trade facilitation and national economic growth.
The Chairman further urged Christians who recently concluded the Lenten season to sustain the discipline of prayer and reflection by seeking divine guidance for Nigeria’s stability and development. According to him, the country’s progress requires not only sound economic policies but also a strong moral foundation among its citizens.
He also extended his message to the global community, calling for prayers for peace in conflict-prone regions and urging world leaders to adopt dialogue and reconciliation as tools for resolving disputes.
“Easter is not just a celebration of the resurrection; it is a call to live a life of purpose, sacrifice, and love for humanity. As stakeholders in the maritime sector, we must reflect these values in our conduct and contributions to national development,” he said.
