National Single Window Opens Support Centre in Apapa to Aid Port Users

By Joshua Yousouph

The management of the National Single Window (NSW) has established a dedicated Support Centre in Apapa, Lagos, to assist port users and stakeholders following the official rollout of Nigeria’s digital trade facilitation platform.

The NSW platform, which went live last Friday, came into operation just days after its formal launch earlier in the week, marking a major step in the Federal Government’s efforts to streamline cargo clearance processes and reduce the cost of doing business at the nation’s seaports.

In a message circulated to stakeholders, the management of the platform disclosed that the newly established Support Centre is strategically located at 34 Wharf Road, Apapa, Lagos, within the country’s busiest port corridor, to ensure easy access for freight forwarders, customs agents, and other industry operators.

According to the statement, the centre is designed to provide hands-on assistance to users encountering challenges while navigating the new digital platform.

The management further urged stakeholders to leverage the available support infrastructure, emphasizing that effective onboarding and proper use of the platform are critical to achieving seamless trade facilitation.

The National Single Window is a Federal Government initiative aimed at integrating all port-related documentation and regulatory processes into a unified digital system. The platform is expected to eliminate manual bottlenecks, enhance transparency, and significantly reduce cargo dwell time at Nigerian ports.

With its transition from pilot testing to full commercial operations, industry stakeholders are optimistic that the NSW will improve efficiency and boost Nigeria’s competitiveness in global trade.
