The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral, Awwal Gambo, has inaugurated four projects in Forward Operating Base, FORMOSO, Egwema, Brass Local Government Area (LGA) of Bayelsa, to boost professional efficiency.
Gambo, at the inauguration on Friday, said that the projects were the construction of a new administrative block, regulating intelligence office, officers transit accommodation block and quarter guard as well as flag post.
He said that the Forward Operating Base had achieved great feat by constructing such projects for the use of officers and ratings of the Nigerian Navy.
“Since the establishment of this base, I find this to non, as we say in the Nigerian Navy Bravozulu.
“I am also in Bayelsa to see the preparation that the Navy has put in place for the forthcoming general election.
“From what I find on ground, the Navy is prepared for the 2023 general election, and we are also ready to support the Independent National Electoral Commission,” he said.
The Naval Chief added that the officers were ready to partner with sister security agencies to ensure a free and fair election in the state.
