A new Chief Executive has been appointed for the Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB).He is Dr. Abubakar Shehu Yabo who had a stint in the Waste Management Division of the AEPB between 2001 and 2005.
Until this appointment, Dr. Yabo an engineer was the acting general manager, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) where he successfully coordinated all technical aspects of the environment, pollution control and operations at the off shore terminals.
Before joining NPA, Dr. Yabo who had his tutelage under the present governor of Niger State Dr. Aliyu Babangida Muazu had served at the AEPB in several capacities.
Dr Yabo is an alumnus of the prestigious Loughborough University in the United Kingdom, where he gained a lot of experience in the fields of civil engineering especially environment and transportation. He was among the first batch of European Modular trainees in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) in England.
Dr. Abubakar Shehu Yabo is a member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, (COREN) Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and Member, chartered Institute of Transport London, among others.
