One of the leading terminal operators in Port Harcourt; Ports and Terminal Operators Nigeria Limited (PTOL) last weekend donated a fully- equipped office complex to the Nigeria Customs Service, Area one Command in Port Harcourt port.
Assistant Comptroller General, Customs. Alhaji Sanusi Argungu who represented the Customs Comptroller General, commended PTOL for the gesture, saying that with the donation, the company has set a pace in the Nigerian maritime industry by being the first to plough back part of their gains into the system.
Speaking further, the ACG promised to reciprocate the gesture by assisting to boost the fortunes of Port Harcourt port so that it can return to its glorious years. He accused terminal operators in Lagos ports of making huge money and not putting anything back into the system.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Managing Director of PTOL, Mrs.Lizzy Ovude, disclosed that the company has committed more than N5Billion into the development of its terminal which according to her was in a very bad state. According to her, the PTOL terminal in Port Harcourt port now parades world class facilities.
