The Ports Terminal Multiservices Ltd. (PTML) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service collected N204.7 billion in the first half of 2025.
Comptroller Tenny Daniyan, Customs Area Controller of the Command, disclosed this during a briefing in Lagos on Wednesday.
He said the amount was N52.1 billion higher than the N152.6 billion collected in the same period of 2024.
This represents a 34.1 per cent increase in revenue collection when compared to the figures from the first half of 2024.
Daniyan stated the command handled 52 vessels, processed 13,431 containers, and completed 30,400 assessments within the first six months of 2025.
He noted initial challenges with the B’Odogwu platform, but said over 90 per cent of stakeholders now use and comply with it.
Since the platform’s launch on Nov. 11, 2024, PTML Command has generated N301.8 billion through the B’Odogwu system.
Daniyan said the command now receives cargo from the Far East and China, in addition to European and American shipping lines.
He added that PTML holds the record for fastest cargo clearance time of two hours, under the Time Release Study.
Only honest declarations qualify for this swift clearance process, Daniyan noted.
He said the command, as the pilot site for B’Odogwu, continues to engage stakeholders through rigorous training for officers and agents.
In spite of initial setbacks, increased acceptance of the platform has been driven by ongoing training and positive user feedback.
He assured that anti-smuggling efforts remain active and uncompromised, even as trade opportunities improve.
Daniyan noted the success of the practical training, with most stakeholders now confident in using the system.
He said training is conducted in batches and will continue until full participation is achieved.
Daniyan expressed gratitude to the CGC for choosing PTML as the pilot area for the B’Odogwu rollout.
He described the B’Odogwu platform as a revolutionary, home-grown tool for trade facilitation and revenue generation.
He congratulated the CGC, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, on his appointment as Chairman of the WCO Council.
Daniyan highlighted programmes like AEO, TRS, and Advance Ruling as reasons for Nigeria’s growing global Customs reputation.
