SON’s Acting DG Declares Zero Tolerance on Substandard Goods

The Acting Director General of the Standard Organsiation of Nigeria (SON) , Dr. Paul Angya has declared zero tolerance to importation of substandard goods into the country.
Angya also told staff of the organization in Lagos to double their revenue and reduce instance of importation of substandard goods into the country this year.
The Ag. DG who was on tour of SON’s offices in Lagos urged Nigerians to reject substandard goods, adding that this will also discourage their importation into the country.
He warned that such importers will have themselves to blame if caught, stressing that it is not dignifying to get adults to do the right thing.
Stating that he would building on what has been existing in the organization, apparently in reference to efforts of the former DG, Angya said he does not intend to upset the system except if provoked to do so.
He warned that even if it was one day he spent in office, he would ensure that the right thing was done.
He declared that transparency would remain his watchword and called on other staff to embrace the same thing for the interest of the organization.
Advising staff to be transparent, he said everyone would be held responsible for what he does.
