After four weeks of vacation by students and staff of Stars Maritime Academy, activities commenced last week at the schools facilities located in Itele, Ogun state.
The private maritime institution ended its last session on the 22nd of December 2012 with a graduation party and passing- out- parade at the school’s permanent site.
The school runs programmes in Shipping management, nautical science and marine engineering for individuals who wish to pick up a career in the maritime sector.

Head of Shipping Management, Mr. Chris Sadoh, disclosed to Shipping Position Daily that admission is already on.
According to him the session run from January to June, which is also known as a voyage and the school run a two year diploma programme leading ti the award of a national diploma certificate to the students.
Sadoh said that those who study nautical science and marine engineering after the diploma certificate, will proceed to Ghana for four weeks mandatory course which will enable student to go aboard a vessel for industrial training.
He said for those that study shipping management, after the diploma programme will proceed for professional exams from either Nigeria Institute of Shipping [NIS] or Certified Institute of Shipping [CIS] which awards advanced diploma certificate.
However, he urged old cadets of the school to resume on time in order to prepare for the new semester.
‘’Old students are advised to resume on time in order for them to prepare for the new academy session which entails classroom training and practicals ‘’, he said.
