The Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF)’s President, Daniel Igali, expressed confidence in Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC) Adewale Adeniyi’s ability to deliver on his mandate during his tenure extension.
The president told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Abuja that CG Adeniyi has demonstrated readiness with a clear vision and strong work ethic during the first tenure.
According to him, Adeniyi will continue to work on ensuring that the Nigeria Customs personnel have a structured process for seamless discharge of their duties.
He said that Adeniyi’s tenure as Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs is well deserved.
“The NWF has sent its warmest felicitations to the CGC of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Adeniyi, on the extension of his tenure by President Bola Tinubu..
“Adeniyi has innovative thinking and impeccable qualities which have reflected on the numerous successes the service has recorded in the past few years,” he said.
NAN reports that the Presidency, on Aug. 2, announced the extension of the tenure of Adeniyi, which is due to expire on Aug. 31, by one year.
The extension approved by President Bola Tinubu, will enable Adeniyi to consolidate on ongoing reforms and complete critical initiatives of this administration.
These included the modernisation of the Nigeria Customs Service, the implementation of the National Single Window Project; and execution of Nigeria’s obligations under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) protocol.
