MSC Launches New Asia-West Africa Service

Nigerian importers who have had to wait for an upward of 44 days for their consignments from Asian nations now have cause to smile. Reason if that of the foremost lines that often call at Tin Can port in Lagos; Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has reviewed its operations, the result is a drastic reduction in waiting time to 28 days.
Mediterranean Shipping Company said yesterday that it will this week; launch a new direct service on the fast-growing Asia-West Africa trade lane to cut down on voyage times.
The new package kicks–off tomorrow (Thursday).

Mediterranean Shipping Company said yesterday that it will this week; launch a new direct service on the fast-growing Asia-West Africa trade lane to cut down on voyage times.
The new package kicks–off tomorrow (Thursday).
 The Geneva-based shipping line also said that all Asia-West Africa volumes moved via trans-shipment in the Mediterranean would be shipped directly to West Africa on its Africa Express Service.
 It added that the new service will employ 10 vessels with an average capacity of 4,000 teu. This, according to the line will cut transit time from Chiwan in China to Tin Can port in Lagos from the current 44 days to 28 days.
According to the company, the full rotation of the service, which will begin operations with the sailing of the 4,038 teu Mare Atlanticum  tomorrow (that is, April 24), will be Nansha, Chiwan, Singapore, Port Louis, Tin Can Island-Lagos, San Pedro, Abidjan, Coega, Colombo, Singapore and Nansha.
