Eko Support Services Limited (ESS) a 100% Nigeria-owned company in the area of provision of logistic services in Lagos has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA) as part of efforts to stop further outbreak of the COVID 19 pandemic in the country.
Speaking with Shipping Position Daily after presenting the items, the Quality Health Safety Environment Supervisor of Eko Support; Mrs Victoria-Oton Akinyemi asserted that the palliatives were to help attack the outspread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, stating that all hands must be on deck to stop it.
“We know what is going on globally, we are under the supervision of NPA, and we are working under their confine, this is one of the things that we understand and we believe that team work makes the dream work and of course with the pandemic everybody has to put hands together to make sure that we prevent it, so that it doesn’t spread more than this. if there is any case in any of the terminal, of course it will affect everybody” she said.
She listed the items to include: “500 pieces of hand gloves, 500 pieces of eye goggles, packs of nose covers which are all World Health Organisation (WHO) approved items for the pandemic,’ She added that, the company made the donation, “to make sure that we join hands with the port management to ensure that we prevent the pandemic until the vaccine its out”.
Appreciating Eko Support, the Port Manager, Lagos Port Complex, Apapa, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Olotu said “We appreciate Eko support for the donations, and we assure you that this will be put to very good use for our frontline workers across department and on behalf of the Managing Director Hajia Bala Usman, we are saying a big thank you to Eko support for the donations”.
