At the burial ceremony of Madam Theresa Virginia Enisuoh, mother of Captain Warredi Enisuoh, Executive Director of Operations at Tantita Securities Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), Reverend Father Cletus Okonkwo of St. Peter’s Catholic Church Agbere, Bayelsa State, lamented the stark absence of development and essential amenities in numerous communities across the Niger Delta region.
During his Funeral Mass address in Agbere, Bayelsa, on Saturday, Rev. Fr. Okonkwo urged both the government and philanthropic individuals to prioritize community development efforts by ensuring the provision of basic amenities.
He illustrated the hardships endured by residents in rural Niger Delta communities, citing the lack of potable water, adequate roads, and primary healthcare facilities as significant contributors to loss of life in the region.
Expressing dismay at the disparity between the region’s abundant resources and its underdevelopment, he emphasized the urgent need for concerted efforts towards infrastructure improvement.
Reflecting on his personal experiences in the area, Rev. Fr. Okonkwo emphasized the critical role of individuals with means and influence in effecting meaningful change within their communities.
He underscored the importance of leaving behind a positive legacy through impactful contributions to community development.
While commending the Enisuoh family for their significant contributions to the community, especially during the mourning period, Rev. Fr. Okonkwo acknowledged the presence and support of various dignitaries and organizations, including High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), the Gbaramatu Kingdom High Chiefs, Chief Kestin Pondi, and the Maritime Reporter’s Association of Nigeria (MARAN), led by its President, Godfrey Bivbere.
Captain Warredi Enisuoh, in his vote of thanks, expressed gratitude to friends, colleagues, and supporters who stood by the family during the burial ceremony, giving special recognition to those who contributed significantly to the event’s success, including MARAN, whose role in amplifying the activities of TSSNL was acknowledged and appreciated.
