The helicopter was returning from an operation to search for those still missing from the ferry Sewol which sank in waters off the country’s southwest coast on April 16, killing about 300 people, most of whom were students on a high school field trip.
The incident follows the death of two divers who died in separate incidents while searching the wreckage of the ferry.
