NAGAFF Says Its Biometric Identity Card To Be Imported From Dubai

The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has assured its members that the it is set to take delivery of its first batch of 1000 biometric identity cards from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by August 2014.

Chairman of the Tin Can Island Chapter of NAGAFF, Chief Azubuike Ekweozor gave the assurance at the inaugural stakeholders meeting of the chapter in Lagos recently.

The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has assured its members that the it is set to take delivery of its first batch of 1000 biometric identity cards from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by August 2014.

Chairman of the Tin Can Island Chapter of NAGAFF, Chief Azubuike Ekweozor gave the assurance at the inaugural stakeholders meeting of the chapter in Lagos recently.

Apart from being a means of identification, the association assured its members that the biometric identity card which is issued by UBA bank can also be used as an ATM card and for purposes of transactions.

Ekweozor however enjoined all members of NAGAFF who were recently co-opted into the association for the purpose of its last elections to ensure they regularize their membership with the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) in order to take full advantage of opportunities in the freight forwarding sector.

The NAGAFF Chairman in his welcome speech at the meeting also stated that, "freight forwarders are hereby called upon to embrace the ethics and standard of carrying out our businesses, we must show due diligence in relating with all practitioners, terminal operators, Nigeria Customs and other agencies"

Ekweozor also said that in pursuance of total compliance at the chapter, seven committees has been set up to reposition the chapter.

The committees are: Publicity Committee, Custom Agent Relation Committee, Finance Committee, Economic Intelligence Committee, Trade Facilitation and Monitoring Committee, Intelligence and Inspectorate Committee as well as Welfare Committee.
