The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) said it is set to open a new chapter at the Enugu International Airport, even as it also disclosed that plans are on to establish more chapters in Delta, Calabar, Sokoto and Anambra states respectively.

According to him, plans are afoot to meet with the Enugu State government and the State's Chambers of Commerce and Industry on the possibility of commencement of operations come 2015.
The NAGAFF president said that the association had the intention to parley with foreign international airlines for the purpose of trade and facilitation adding that a 13-man committee comprising members of the association had earlier moved to the state to carry out research work.
He revealed that the outcome of the research and inspection works by the members brought about the urgent need to setting up the Enugu chapter.
Apart from the freight forwarding business at the international airport, Chief Nweke stated that the essence of the new chapter in the eastern part of the country is to train Nigerian youths about freight forwarding profession.
He noted that the training may come in form of e-commerce, pointing out that the establishment of chapters in other parts of the country was to assist the customs in revenue collection.
Nweke stressed that the Enugu Chapter when completed will create jobs for the youths in the South East and will also compete with the Port Harcourt International Airport.
He added that the Onitsha port in neighbouring Anambra state will be next after final touches might have been put to the one in Enugu.
" By March next year, we are hoping to partner with the government of Delta State because that state will soon become a hub of maritime and freight forwarding activities, we are also making move to create more chapters among international frontiers because freight forwarding is an international business”, he stated.
