The earlier meeting, according the President of SSACTAC; Umar Jimoh was re-scheduled for today so as to finding a lasting solution to the workers demands and avert the looming strike.
Comrade Umar said that management pleaded with workers to give them till today to sort out a few issues concerning their demands.
Speaking in the same vein, the President of the Nigerian Ports Authority branch of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN); Comrade Adeleke Sanni also confirmed that the strike has been put on hold until after today’s meeting.
Our correspondent however learnt that the management may have scored a plus, because one of the workers demands is being met. A source hinted that letters of promotion are already being given to some junior employees.
