The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company and the Association of Nigeria Customs Licensed Agents (ANCLA) have reached a middle of the road agreement on the recent increase in cargo tariff.
Nahco had last week hiked the cargo tariff by 30 percent but ANCLA had kicked against the hike.
But following intense negotiations, both parties settled for a 20 percent increase on air cargo tariff.
The new agreement means that nahco aviance  would have to revise downward the initial 30 percent increase it had started implementing while ANCLA would move up to 20 percent.

In a meeting at the head office of nahco aviance  in Lagos, the negotiating team of ANCLA led by the Vice  Chairman, Honourable Bola Ashiru- Balogun, with the Treasurer, Afolabi Azeez and the Financial Secretary, Obanla Alexm said that they reached the agreement with Nahco aviance  in the interest of the overall development of the industry and in realisation of the fact that both sides were in the tough economic situation together.
The MD/CEO of Nahco aviance, Mr. Norbert Bielderman, said what happened was a win-win for all the parties.
Bielderman urged the association leaders to always feel free to approach Nahco aviance  whenever issues that concern both parties arise.
On his part, Bola Ashiru- Balogun said this is the first time in a long while that Nahco would get its act right  adding that the push by the company for the tariff increase was organised.
Ashiru- Balogun said although Nahco aviance  called the agreement a win-win situation, it is to the association and their teeming members a lose- win situation.
He explained that Nahco aviance  won this time and should be congratulated, adding however that ANCLA would win the next time even as he called for an even stronger relationship between the two partners.
