The Area Controller, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Seme Command, Comptroller Victor Dimka lastb week urged contractors handling the on-going projects at the Seme/Krake border to complete the projects on time.
The projects at the Seme/Krake Border are being financed by the ECOWAS and EU to meet up international standard.
Dimka urged the contractors to meet the deadline for the completion of the projects.
“The purpose of this visit is to inspect the ongoing projects and to urge the contractor to meet up with the deadline.
“We have given them all the maximum support and cooperation they need in order to ensure that these projects are completed in due
time.
“We are just managing the offices we are in now. It is part of the sacrifices we have made in order to give enough support to this project.
“With what I have seen on ground, I am confident that the project would be finished by March 28,’’ he said.
Earlier, the Project Manager, GER SA, Mr Afolabi Soule, said that the project would be completed on schedule.
“The project should have been completed since February 2014 but we had some challenges that we encountered on the way; so we were given an extension.
“We have been getting all the necessary support and cooperation from the Customs and the community, so we would definitely finish these projects by March 28,’’ he said.
Some of the projects under construction are the office buildings for the Customs , vehicle seat, baggage, scanners and conference room, among others .
