Foremost indigenous player in the Nigerian maritime and aviation, Sifax Group has announced major restructuring in its management cadre; a development which saw its group managing director, Dr Taiwo Afolabi being elevated to the status of Group Executive Vice Chairman.
In a statement that was made available to our correspondent last week by the group’s head of corporate affairs and marketing, Mr Oliver Omajuwa.
Attributing the restructuring to recent growth and expansion in the organization, he statement added that the changes were made so as to cope with the attendant challenges and also enable the company to continue to deliver excellent services to its customers.
Sifax group has five subsidiaries, namely: Ports & Cargo Handling Services Ltd, Sifax Shipping Company Ltd, Sifax Offdock Ltd, Sifax Haulage & Logistics Company Ltd, Sifax Nigeria Ltd and Skyway Aviation Handling Company Ltd.
Giving further breakdown on the restructuring the statement added that Capt. Luc Deruyver has been elevated to the position of Group Managing Director, from his previous designation as the group’s Deputy Managing Director.
Also affected is Mrs. Folashade Afolabi who has also been promoted to the position of Executive Chairman in charge of Sifax Offdock. She was previously the Executive Director. Sifax Offdock.
Other top personnel who have been elevated are: Mr Adedayo Ashaolu who has been promoted to the position of Group Executive Director (Administration, Human Resources & Shipping). He was the General Manager, Human Capital and Administration. The General manager, Sifax Offdock Dr. Phil Ofulue has also been promoted to the position of Managing Director, Sifax Offdock.
Similarly, Mr. Aboubaker Omar Hadi who was previously General Manager Ports & Cargo Handling Services Ltd has been elevated to the position of Managing Director, Ports & Cargo Handling Services Ltd
Also affected are: Major Henry Ajetunmobi (Rtd.) who has been promoted to the position of Managing Director, Sifax Haulage and Logistics, he was the General Manager Sifax Haulage & Logistics before his new appointment.
The promotion also affected Mr. Isaac Orolugbagbe who was previously Chief Operating Officer Skyway Aviation Handling Coy. Ltd. He has been elevated as the substantive Managing Director of the company
